Road Machinery took over Shannahan Equipment in early 2009. Road Machinery decided not to continue with Local 3 and is now on strike.
We have no dealership in the Bay Area. You would think that Komatsu America would jump in and not leave up stranded without a dealer. This is going to cost Komatsu way down the road. All the hard work and reputation of the product will be lost.

Workers at a West Sacramento equipment distributor have taken to the picket lines striking over proposed wage cuts and changes to an employee pension plan.
As many as 25 employees at Phoenix-based Road Machinery's Seaport Boulevard plant were on the line Tuesday.
The West Sacramento employees and those at three other California sites have been working without a contract since May, said Bob Miller, director of operations for Operating Engineers Local 3, which represents a small percentage of Road Machinery employees statewide.
A number of issues are on the table, but chief among them are a proposed $3.50 an hour wage decrease, changes in health benefits and a switch from a union employee pension plan to a pension plan to be set up by Road Machinery.
"We want things to stay the same, not go back," Miller said.
Road Machinery officials said Tuesday that they were surprised by the strike action.
Managers met with union representatives in August on revisions to the pension plan, officials said in a statement, adding that they thought a compromise was close at hand.
It's now a bad situation, Komatsu were are you?
